OTTAWA —The Tories are demanding a formal investigation to root out the source of a ‘nasty, dirty’ Twitter account that has been attacking Public Safety Minister Vic Toews for days.

The Vikileaks30 tweets began late Tuesday night and were posted directly in response to the tabling of the government’s “lawful access” bill which requires Internet service providers and cellphone companies to hand over basic customer information to authorities without a warrant.

A spokesman for Toews said that he will send a letter Friday to House of Commons Speaker Andrew Scheer requesting the probe.

The announcement comes after an Ottawa Citizen investigation traced the Twitter account to a House of Commons IP address.

I'm not a twit that tweets, but that is pretty funny!

Kinda sad that we are paying this twitter-er from our tax dollars, but entertainment is more that we usually receive.

Its funny up until about 9 months ago I wanted nothing to do with Twitter but the for some reason I signed up. Now that's where I get a lot of my news and sports info.
